7 Live Music Picks for This Weekend in Metro Atlanta and North Georgia

From free outdoor country in Roswell to jazz in Alpharetta, Fleetwood Mac in Athens, U2 in Cumming and Southern rock in McDonough, here are seven live music picks for September 11–13 around Metro Atlanta and North Georgia.

September 11–13, 2026

You could build a very different live music weekend depending on which direction you drive.

There’s free outdoor country in Roswell, world-class jazz in Alpharetta, Fleetwood Mac in Athens, a longtime Atlanta favorite in Duluth, U2 under the stars in Cumming, Southern rock in McDonough, and an easygoing Sunday afternoon of jazz and soul in Atlanta.

Here are seven shows worth knowing about this weekend.

Friday: Nashville Nation at Music on the Hill

Roswell City Hall · Roswell
Friday, September 11 · 7–9 PM · Free

Roswell's Music on the Hill series wraps another Friday night around live music on the lawn at City Hall.

This week's band is Nashville Nation, bringing contemporary and classic country to the outdoor stage. Admission is free, making this an easy choice if you're looking for a casual Friday evening without committing to a ticketed concert.

Friday: Tia Fuller & Lil' John Roberts

The Velvet Note · Alpharetta
Friday and Saturday · 7:30 and 9:30 PM shows

For something completely different, The Velvet Note brings Grammy-nominated saxophonist Tia Fuller together with drummer Lil' John Roberts.

The intimate Alpharetta listening room is built for this kind of performance. If your idea of live music is less about standing in a crowd and more about sitting close enough to watch great musicians work, put this one near the top of the list.

Friday: Banks & Shane

Red Clay Music Foundry · Duluth
Friday, September 11

Banks & Shane have been part of Atlanta's musical fabric since 1972.

The folk and Americana group built a following through decades of performances around Atlanta and far beyond it, and Red Clay Music Foundry gives them the kind of listening-room setting that fits the music.

This is one of those shows that feels particularly local, even after more than five decades.

Friday: Rumours ATL — A Fleetwood Mac Tribute

Georgia Theatre · Athens
Friday, September 11 · 8 PM

If Fleetwood Mac is more your speed, Rumours ATL takes over the Georgia Theatre Friday night.

The Atlanta-based tribute has built a following around recreating the sound and feel of Fleetwood Mac, and the historic Georgia Theatre makes Athens a worthwhile destination for the evening.

Doors open at 7 PM and the show begins at 8.

Saturday: Elevation — The Ultimate Tribute to U2

Lou Sobh Amphitheater at Cumming City Center · Cumming
Saturday, September 12 · 8–10 PM · Free

Cumming City Center's fall concert series continues Saturday with Elevation, an Atlanta-based U2 tribute.

Expect songs spanning U2's catalog, including anthems such as "Pride," "Where the Streets Have No Name" and "With or Without You."

Admission and parking are free. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and make an evening of it.

Saturday: SkynFolks

Southern Roots Tavern & Eatery · McDonough
Saturday, September 12 · 9 PM

Southern rock gets its turn Saturday night when SkynFolks brings its Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute to Southern Roots.

The musicians behind the band have connections to national acts including the Allman Brothers Band, Collective Soul and Leon Russell, and their show is built around reproducing the music of Skynyrd rather than simply playing a collection of familiar covers.

Doors open at 6 PM with the show scheduled for 9.

Sunday: Kevin Wilson & Potluck

St. James Live! · Atlanta
Sunday, September 13 · 4 PM

Not every weekend show needs to run late.

Vocalist Kevin Wilson and Potluck take the St. James Live! stage Sunday afternoon for a performance mixing jazz, soul, gospel and R&B.

Hosted by Lori Williams, the Sunday Jazz Lounge show is designed around collaboration and improvisation, making it a relaxed way to close out the weekend.
